The Department of Economics (DSE) at the University of Bologna is launching a call for interest at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in the field of History of Economic Thought, to serve as a preliminary evaluation of the feasibility of opening a position in the Spring of 2022.
The Department is committed to scientific excellence in research and in undergraduate and graduate education. The University of Bologna is the leading Italian public university in the field of Economics.
Ideal candidates have an active and promising research agenda, and have published in internationally recognized journals. All approaches and research topics will be given full consideration, but candidates will be expected to collaborate with colleagues in different areas of Economics and Economic History. Of particular interest are research agendas about the role of the State vs. markets, income and wealth distribution, natural resources, the role of money, and in general those that apply historical lenses to matters of contemporary relevance
Candidates must possess a record of publications and achievements in line with the level of the prospective position, and an interest in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department can accomodate the candidate needs to teach in Italian or in English, although the ability to teach in both languages is a plus.
